Compile, maintain and upgrade “as-built” CAD District building floor & site plans. Provide in-house CAD drafting services for the Construction Management & Support Department. Oversee management, maintenance, control & updating of construction/record drawings/document archives. Compile and maintain documentation on all District square footages and mobile unit locations. Maintain electronic filing “Web-based format” drawing system on shared computer drive. All work done with minimal supervision. May assist with translation and/or communication using second language skills when possible.

D23% Compile, maintain and upgrade “as-built” Facilities Management drawings for all District buildings and site plans on CAD system. (Includes but not limited to: shut off locations, fire lanes, sprinkler systems, window/door security numbers, security keypad locations, DDC ((Direct Digital Controls)) information, PBX closets, Building/Site historical information ((construction information, square footage, etc.)), electrical panel locations, plumbing/sewer information, fire extinguisher locations.
D/W3% Supply existing CAD drawings of District buildings and sites to District employees, architects, engineers and outside consultants for construction, remodel, renovation and bond projects.
D/W5% Supply converted (.pdf, dwf, .jpg) CAD drawings of District buildings and sites to District employees, architects, engineers and outside consultants for constructions, remodel, renovation and bond projects. Supply the Incidence Response Team, Aurora Police Department and Aurora Fire Department with floor and site plans of all APS sites in a “.jpg” format for use and installation on APD/AFD laptop computers in response to emergency incidence.
D/W8% Create drawings requested by individual District sites (including but not limited to fire exit drawings, floor/site plans for student handbooks, miscellaneous safety drawings, etc.).
W/M12% Compile and maintain square footage spreadsheets (Excel) for Facilities Inventory documentation on all District buildings (original construction & addition square footages, mobile unit square footages, out- building square footages). Calculate square footage requests for all buildings and sites owned and/or leased by the District as needed by District employees, architects, engineers and outside consultants for projects. Email spreadsheets as needed or requested.
W10% Oversee the management, maintenance, control and updating of construction/record drawings/document archives of all District facilities (current and historical). Develop and maintain storage for all Bond and Capital Improvement construction drawings, submittals, project coordinator notebooks and shop drawings. Maintain record for 7 years. Copy existing archive/record drawings on large format copier/scanner/printer.
W/M9% Develop and maintain electronic filing “Web-based format” drawing system of all converted AutoCAD drawing files on a shared computer drive for use by all Construction Management & Support and Maintenance & Operations employees. Train and assist District employees in the use of electronic filing “Web-Based format” drawings system on the shared computer drive.
W/M12% Assist the project coordinators with project research, design and development of District project drawings. Prepare architectural “tenant finish” drawings for remodels, mobile unit relocations and the like projects for bidding, construction and required city permits. Prepare asbestos abatement project drawings for bidding and abatement purposes of bond and capital improvement District projects.
W/M4% Maintain construction document archive computer database (Access) for 14,000+ drawings. Schedule copying/delivery of archived drawings at eBlueprint to District employees, architects, engineers and outside consultants for construction, remodel, renovation and bond projects. Issue Invitation Key numbers for direct ordering of APS scanned drawings of the eBlueprint website.
M/Q4% Conduct walkthroughs of buildings and sites to compare site conditions to current CAD drawings and document changes. Integrate floor plan and site changes into existing “as-built” CAD drawings. Update facilities inventory floor and site plan drawings on a quarterly basis (approximately 30 sets in-house)
Q1% Prepare ADA drawings as required by site changes due to federal requirements.
M/A5% Compile and maintain Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA) inspection and management plan drawings. Compile and maintain building location maps for the District. Maintain hazardous material storage area drawings as required by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Compile and maintain Storm Drain and Fire Hydrant drawings. Compile and maintain Lead-based Paint sample drawings.
M/Q3% Compile and maintain drawings of all Fire Alarm Zones and Security Alarm Zones (motion detectors, door contacts, boiler alarms, etc.) for all District buildings and supply the Risk Management/Security Department with current updates.

High school diploma or equivalent, plus post-secondary courses equivalent to one year of college in AutoCAD.
Requires a minimum of three years of experience in related position using AutoCAD system.
Operating knowledge of AutoCAD software required. Operating knowledge of and experience with personal computers and word processing, spreadsheet and database applications. Thorough knowledge of reading and understanding blueprints and construction drawings. Strong customer service skills, time management skills, strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task. Requires ability to perform math computations. Required to work overtime on both a scheduled and an emergency basis. Subject to after-hours recall. English language skills required. Oral and written fluency in second language may be preferred or required based on building assignment.
Colorado Class “C” driver’s license required at time of hire. Driver’s license must be maintained as a condition of continued employment.
This job has no supervisory responsibilities. Acts as a technical and historical resource for district by providing building plans, site drawings and maintaining construction archives.
